In Valencia I had a couple of dinner recommendations from a friend so without any research we made a reservation at La Sucursal at 9pm, a little ahead of the usual Spanish time, so that we could then go and see one of the Las fallas parades 10-12pm. The food was so plentiful and so good that we stayed in the restaurant until a little after midnight. Whilst not entirely what we had in mind, I didn’t regret it at all.

We opted for the innovation menu, after all it had several awards. And this is what we had. All ten courses….

The water menu

Amuses Bouches

Mi cuit de fois gras with chocolate and black truffle

Carpaccio of tuna with egg yolk, onion paper and cavier pearls

Oysters with rice, thin ham and crunchy 'fish paper'

Oysters with rice, thin ham, fish paper to give it a crunch

Soup of duck jus, with seafood

Monkfish with spring onions, gnocchi of crustacians and chinese mushrooms

Tender buey of oxtail, servedwith with fois shaped into a mini parsnip

Apple and melon, with aloe vera ice cream

Cherry cake, sorbet of cherries, white chocolate stage horns

Mignardaises
